Kura Kaiako – Wānanga Reo
3.5 Days
He poumata ki te pō, he pito mata ki te ao.
Ancestrally driven. Future focused.
Kura Kaiako Wānanga Reo is a three-and-a-half-day immersion experience created for kaiako and learning communities across Tāmaki Makaurau. From beginners to advanced speakers, tauira will learn alongside experienced mātanga reo and kaiako, building confidence, extending their reo and strengthening the language they carry into their classrooms and communities.
Inspired by Kura Reo across the motu, this wānanga brings the reo home to Tāmaki. Through a distinctly Ngāti Whātua lens, tauira will move through dynamic, levelled workshops weaving together reo, tikanga, waiata, kīwaha, whakataukī and the histories of Tāmaki Makaurau. Here, language is connected to whenua, whakapapa and the stories that give this place its identity.
Come away with more than new kupu. Return to your kura with the confidence to speak, teach, share and inspire with a deeper understanding of the whenua beneath your feet and the people whose histories live within it.
